When it comes to writing for women, think about personal experiences. If you work and live with other women, pick up on personal experiences and bring that into your writing.
Peter Wrote to Women – How did he know what to say?
“Wives, in the same way submit yourselves to your own husbands so that, if any of them do not believe the word, they may be won over without words by the behavior of their wives, when they see the purity and reverence of your lives. Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes. Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight. For this is the way the holy women of the past who put their hope in God used to adorn themselves.” (1 Peter 3)
How did Peter know what to say to women in his writing? How do men get to know anything about women?

Men learn from women in their family
Men learn from observing other women and their contact with women.
Peter wrote from not only the guiding of the Holy Spirit, his own personal relationships with women, but from what he observed. Look at the last verse in the passage above.
“For this is the way the holy women of the past who put their hope in God used to adorn themselves.” You see, Peter wrote form experience and observation.
When creating characters or writing to a certain type of woman, think about your own personal experiences. What can you draw from those women to put into your writing – Good and bad? Your characters will come to life and your words will embrace a deeper connection.
